Grown From Seed

Seeds given to me as 'Miss Willmott' but when it Bloomed Dave's Garden placed it under Potentilla 'Melton Fire' (Potentilla nepalensis)

Hardy Geranium 'Striatum' (Geranium pratense)Seeds came from somewhere over seas. Grew this many years ago.

Joe Pye Weed 'Variegatum' (Eupatorium variabile) Seeds came from somewhere over seas. Grew this many years ago too.

Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate "Shiro-gane Nishiki" (Persicaria orientalis) Last one for this post, although very far from least, for plants I grew from seeds.

There is just something so rewarding about growing plants from seeds. I think they mean that much more to the gardener then buying plants from a nursery. I found you blog on Blotanical - Welcome!

Thank You. You are very right. I have a special place in my heart for each one.

Kim that photo of the potentilla is just beautiful. I got out of the way of growing seeds and took the easy option and bought plugs - but there is so much choice when you go to a seed catalogue. Rosie:)

Hi Kim, some nice shots there. I like the Shiro-gane Nishiki; I need to do something with my front garden (once the Master Plan is under way), and I want a few less than usual plants for it!

Well most likely you wont find them at the Home Depot or Lowes..he he. But if you are looking for seed of any plant. Give me a shout!I might can help you come up with a few plants (seeds) that would be perfect for that area.

I agree! This is my first year after we dug up the whole lawn, and the ones I treasure are came from seeds--many sown a la wintersown (started in February in plastic bags on the deck!)!
